Student/Visitor Housing

The Shannon Point Marine Center offers low cost housing to individuals or groups connected with our academic programs and to official guests of the Marine Center. Priority is given to groups or programs affiliated with Western Washington University.

Dormitories

A 12-room dormitory includes rooms with two beds, a closet/dresser, and desk. Each pair of rooms shares a common bathroom. High-speed internet is available in all rooms.

The Commons building is a shared space for dormitory residents with kitchen, lounge, recreational amenities, laundry, and additional bathrooms.

SPMC House

The SPMC house is a 3-bedroom house with a bathroom, kitchen, living room.  This facility is available for monthly rentals for those interested in longer-term stays. Internet access is currently available only if the resident(s) set up a contract with a local provider.

Linens

Linen packages are available for an additional fee.  Each linen package includes 1 set of sheets, blanket, pillow, towel, bathmat, and washcloth.  Residents are responsible for laundering their own linens throughout their stay. 

Meals

Residents are responsible for preparing their own meals in shared kitchens; no meal service is available. The Commons building for dormitory residents contains a kitchen with refrigerators, microwaves, stoves, sinks, dishwasher, cookware, and utensils.  The SPMC house also has a fully equipped kitchen. The town of Anacortes has several grocery stores, as well as a variety of restaurants.

Laundry

The dormitory Commons Building and SPMC house are equipped with laundry facilities.  Residents must provide their own laundry supplies.

Please note that U.S. mail cannot be forwarded after your stay.  Please update mailing address with the sender rather than relying on the U.S. Postal Service to forward mail.

Room Assignments

Rental charges are based on double occupancy of rooms.  SPMC reserves the right to assign a new roommate to a space at any time. 

For program groups, the group supervisor is responsible for distributing and returning keys to the main office.  

On-site camping is prohibited.
